A former UK MP who was found guilty of a string of sex attacks was immediately publicly rejected by his wife of 25 years after the trial.

He invited the victim, who was in her early 30s, to his family townhouse in 2007.

The Dover MP opened a bottle of £40 wine and began asking her about her sexual interests, including if she liked “lace and leather” and saying he liked “bondage and whips”. “He was chanting in a singsong way: ‘I’m a naughty Tory, I’m a naughty Tory’, as though it was the school playground.”

Even Italy hold politicians to account for detaining refugees. Pity we don’t. Look at that for political accountability.
