Breyer: 'Politics goes out the window' once justices join the Supreme Court

Justice Stephen Breyer appeared for a rare virtual interview Wednesday afternoon and said that once a justice takes the bench"politics goes out the window," adding that justices rule based on judicial philosophies.

In a wide-ranging but brief conversation sponsored by the American Bar Association, Breyer acknowledged that politics might influence the appointment of a judge but not how he or she ultimately rules from the bench. "I've never seen politics in that sense" Breyer said.

This is a load of horseshit. If justices weren't political, there wouldn't be such a shitstorm between the parties as candidates for the bench are being confirmed.

Funny I thought US judges are suppose to rule based on the letter of the law and also based on the US constitution. Also thought legislation is required to create new laws created by representatives of the people.
