KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is toying with the idea of implementing an anti-hopping law in view of the political instability faced by the state.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said countries such as Singapore had done it, but he admitted there were various legal implications.

“But this matter has to be looked into thoroughly because I’m sure there’s responsibility and legal implications to it, ” Shafie said after handing over the appointment letter to Sabah’s new state Attorney General, Brenndon Keith Soh. Shafie said with such practises, the people needed to be mindful and remember so that when the time came, they, as voters, would know what to do to the representatives who hopped.
