KOTA KINABALU: A businessman and his two sons have claimed trial to charges of rioting against blogger Papagomo.

The trio, Datuk Mohd Akjan Ali Muhammad, Mahathir and Mohd Ghazali Hanif, were allegedly involved in a riot at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport in front of the Malindo Air counter at 7.45pm on Jan 19.

Papagomo, whose real name is Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, had allegedly torn a picture of Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal during the Kimanis by-election campaign period. Magistrate Afiq Agoes allowed RM1,300 bail with two local sureties for each of the accused. He also set Aug 5 for pre-trial case management.Counsel Farazwin Haxdy, representing Mahathir and Ghazali, also requested for lower bail.
