Protesters against the death penalty gather in Terre Haute, Ind., Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Wesley Ira Purkey, convicted of a gruesome 1998 kidnapping and killing, is scheduled to be executed Wednesday evening at the federal prison in Terre Haute.
The vote to allow the execution to go forward was 5-4, with the court’s four liberal members dissenting. Purkey was convicted of kidnapping, raping and killing a 16-year-old girl before dismembering, burning and then dumping the teen’s body in a septic pond. He was also convicted in a state court in Kansas after using a claw hammer to kill an 80-year-old woman who suffered from polio.Purkey’s execution had been scheduled for Wednesday at the Federal Correctional Complex in Terre Haute, Indiana. On Tuesday, Daniel Lewis Lee was put to death at the facility after his eleventh-hour legal bids failed.

Think of the victims
I'm torn about the death penalty, cases like Ted Bundy had the right outcome, this case where he's really guilty there should be death but not wait decades, but death should only be used if truly guilty, and for the most evil of crimes.
yet donaldtrump had the hide to criticise Iran for executions
We're just killing them left and right now huh? EndCapitalPunishment Scary
I pray some day Bill Barr suffers deeply for every injustice he's every committed.
It’s 3am, and there’s a phone ringing in the White House.... telling Trump he can kill another man.
Barbarians.
Inhuman America. Inhuman Americans - eating their breakfast & going to work. Inhuman Americans packing their kids off to school, as someone kills on their behalf. Just another day in America.
We shouldn’t kill people for their crimes, even if the judicial system was perfect and no innocent lives were ever taken. I’d argue that life in prison is worse than the death penalty. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
The U.S is one giant corrupt experiment. The prison sys, a cesspool of corruption in private hands. Marginalised groups have suffered immensely under this crookedness. And now they protest! The whole structure is bloody corrupt and crooked politicians in both parties are to blame.
an eye for an eye !
They want to execute yet are Pro life?
The Republican Senate cleared the way for at least 140,000 deaths from Covid-19 when they acquitted Trump.
Decisions to move forward with 2 executions this week have literally been decided in the dead of the night after years of being on hold. What’s up with the last minute legal wrangling?
Why execute people ? Barr only need to let them loose in america and they will catch covid19... or to make sure... send them to florida .. and wait ...
Disgusting.
Please trust me. What the rogue bandit regime of Communist China says is not credible, and what they promise is not credible. They like to say one thing and do another!
It's time for a constitutional amendment to abolish the death penalty. 90% of executions take place in China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, & egypt. It's time to be on the right side of history.
America is killing again. America is healing...
