Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hospitalized Tuesday morning to treat a possible infection.... [+]Ginsburg was initially evaluated at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., Monday night after experiencing fever and chills, spokeswoman Kathleen Arberg said Tuesday.

Ginsburg was admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore on Tuesday for “treatment of a possible infection” and she had an endoscopic procedure in the afternoon to clean a bile duct stent that was placed last August. "The Justice is resting comfortably and will stay in the hospital for a few days to receive intravenous antibiotic treatment,” Arberg said. Ginsburg is considered the leader of the Supreme Court’s liberal wing, which is outnumbered by conservatives 5-4. She was appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1993.Tuesday morning, Ginsburg was one of the dissenting justices in the Supreme Court ruling that set aGinsburg has had a range of health issues in recent years.
