The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed an appeal filed by a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa State, Timi Alaibe, against governorHe had filed the appeal at the apex court to challenge the emergence of Mr Diri as PDP’s candidate in the last year’s election.
The Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal on May 12, also dismissed Mr Alaibe’s appeal and upheld the judgment of the trial court.Dismissed again This followed the annulment of the victory of the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress , David Lyon, by the Supreme Court. The apex court in the judgment delivered by Ejembi Eko consequently ordered INEC to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Messrs Lyon and Degi-Eremienyo.
