KUALA LUMPUR: The government needs to study the need for an anti-hopping law as freedom of association for every citizen is still guaranteed under the Federal Constitution, says Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government needs to study the need for an anti-hopping law as freedom of association for every citizen is still guaranteed under the Federal Constitution, says Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan .

"However, if the government feels there is a need to formulate an anti-hopping law in the future, we will study the matter thoroughly, including comparing it with the best practices of other countries," Takiyuddin said. "The government will consult with various quarters, including NGOs and political parties, if it intends to formulate an anti-hopping law," Takiyuddin said.
