The monthlong observation known for its colorful parades and seemingly endless parties that celebrate equality and LGBTQ life might look different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the spirit of Pride, with its focus on the Black Lives Matter movement, is similar to the first time it was recognized.
We asked six Black LGBTQ individuals from Kentucky what Pride means to them in 2020. Here are their stories."Pride in 2020 means owning up to who you are and standing firm in that. Being at the protests has been a surreal, almost out-of-body experience. When I'm on the front line, talking to police officers and getting shot at with tear gas and pepper bullets, I realize 'Wow, this is another struggle that I have to deal with.' As if being non-binary or queer isn't enough, my blackness is still an issue.
Because surely, just like with the Civil Rights Act and Stonewall, you will benefit from the success. ... We stand on the shoulders of the Black queer people who came before us."'Nobody knows oppression like Black, queer people'
Name one person. I’ll wait
Extend the number of moths in the colander from 12 to 20 so the alphabet people can each have their own month. Laughable but so fitting in this age of “look at me”!! Lol

They’re just not even trying to hide it anymore.
Care to name the many or is this going to be the pattern of the future narrative where blacks get to co opt & take credit for every social justice movement b/c they are now at the top of the intersectionality ladder.
'many say'? Who is writing at USA Today these days, high school children who love generalizations so they don't have to look up facts and cite them?
BLM has nothing to do with Pride, you pandering fuckwits. Two separate movements.
Hahahahaha K.
Monsters always kill their creators. Lets be honest the world would exist with out the all mighty black folk. We should bow now. Not!

‘Pride Month would not exist if it weren't for the efforts of Black LGBTQ activists.’ Black supremacy in full-effect, yo!
Was this pride month? Oh shit! It was totally overshadowed by blacklivesmatter
Need to keep BLM issues and LGBTQ issues separate or nothing gets accomplished. Keep up the fight.
