Former High Court Justice Dyson Heydon sexually harassed six female judges' associates, an independent inquiry has found. 9News

"The court now confirms that the subject of the investigation was the Honourable Dyson Heydon AC QC," Justice Kiefel said.Mr Heydon told the Sydney Morning Herald via his lawyers Speed and Stacey: "Any allegation of predatory behaviour or breaches of the law is categorically denied by our client." "Our client says that if any conduct of his has caused offence, that result was inadvertent and unintended and he apologises for any offence caused."

Among the allegations reported by the Herald, Mr Heydon inappropriately touched women at functions and took young associates back to his chambers and his accommodation where he harassed them.* A human resources policy relevant to the personal staff of justices* A support person for associates, who can act as a conduit to the chief executive and principal registrar

* Clarification that confidentiality requirements for associates relate only to the work of the courtJustice Kiefel said the court had taken a close look at its policies and processes.Justice Heydon was on the bench from 2003 to 2013 and led a royal commission into union misconduct.

High Court inquiry finds former justice ‘harassed’ six young women | Sky News AustraliaAn independent inquiry by the High Court of Australia has found Former High Court Justice Dyson Heydon sexually harassed six young female associates.\n\nChief Justice Susan Kiefel released an explosive statement saying she was “ashamed” of the alleged conduct by one of the nation’s pre-eminent legal minds.\n\nThe inquiry was headed up by Dr Vivienne Thom who found the women had been harassed by former Justice Heydon.\n\n“We are ashamed that this could have happened at the High Court of Australia,” Chief Justice Susan Kiefel said in the statement.\n\n“The High Court was advised last year of allegations of sexual harassment against a former Justice and we immediately acted to commission an independent investigation.\n\n“The investigation found that six former Court staff members who were Judges' Associates were harassed by the former Justice.”\n\nJustive Kiefel said the court sincerely apologised to the women who came forward.\n“We have made a sincere apology to the six women whose complaints were borne out,” the statement said.\n\n“We know it would have been difficult to come forward. Their accounts of their experiences at the time have been believed. I have appreciated the opportunity to talk with a number of the women about their experiences and to apologise to them in person. I have also valued their insights and suggestions for change that they have shared with the Court.”\n\nMr Heydon strongly denied the allegations through a statement from his lawyers.\n'In respect of the confidential inquiry and its subsequent confidential report, any allegation of predatory behaviour or breaches of the law is categorically denied by our client,' the statement said.\n\n'Our client says that if any conduct of his has caused offence, that result was inadvertent and unintended, and he apologises for any offence caused.\n'We have asked the High Court to convey that directly to the associate complainants.'\n Waiting for Abbott, Bolt, Murray, Jones, Pahini, Credlin and Kenny to jump to his defence.
