DACA is here to stay

, a 5-4 ruling by the court leave the program in place for roughly 700,000 immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as undocumented youth, also known as Dreamers. As NPR noted, the Trump administration had contended the program was unconstitutional. Chief Justice John Robers penned by Roberts, the court found that the Department of Homeland Security’s acting director Elaine C.

“That dual failure raises doubts about whether the agency appreciated the scope of its discretion or exercised that discretion in a reasonable manner,” he continued. “The appropriate recourse is therefore to remand to DHS so that it may consider the problem anew.”
