Hong Kong opposition politicians slam new national security law proposed by the Chinese government

The Chinese Government and Ms Lam's city administration have said the law will not curtail freedoms but will rather target a small number of "troublemakers" and help bring stability after a year of anti-government protests. "I urge opponents who still use the usual tactics to demonise and smear the work to stop because by doing this they become the enemy of the Hong Kong people," Ms Lam said.Details about the law have not been disclosed, however Ms Lam has said the specifics will be establishedShe said people "don't need to worry" about this because it is for Hong Kong's authorities to enforce the law."The only purpose of this task is to protect Hong Kong and the country.
