It has been a traumatic week in the world, and I want to make it clear that we at Wallpaper* support Black Lives Matter. We are united with the peaceful protestors around the world, who are standing up for justice within a system that has for too long supported unequal rights. We will continue to educate ourselves and strive to action change in our industry.
The current pandemic has shown our ability to pull together and innovate as a design community. Your messages, positive stories and acts of solidarity have demonstrated active collaboration through adversity. Ouris reporting on the situation across 20 territories worldwide and revealing truly innovative, resilient and progressive ideas. We will now carry this project on and broaden its scope.
At this delicate time, I confess to feeling torn as to whether to promote and launch the new issue. But the industry needs support, products need to be launched, as the impact of Covid-19 has devastated its landscape. I feel a duty to play our part in enabling the recovery plans, so therefore in order to support the design industry we release today, as planned, the Summer 2020 issue.
