Repatriate detained immigrants to stop virus spread, says rights group

PUTRAJAYA is urged to repatriate all immigrants and their families while releasing the asylum seekers and refugees who are held in the detention entres.

Human rights group Tenaganita said the move will “dramatically” reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection, following today’s revelation that 60 undocumented immigrants held at the Immigration Department’s detention depot in Bukit Jalil have tested positive for the coronavirus.
