OTTAWA -- Jim Karahalios won't be allowed to run for the federal Conservative party's leadership despite a court ruling that reopened the door to his candidacy.
The decision came one day after an Ontario court ruled that Karahalios could be a candidate if he met certain conditions previously laid down by the party within 14 days. The complaint alleged that Karahalios had engaged in racist and Islamophobic attacks against the O'Toole's campaign chair. But while he rejected the manner in which Karahalios had been ejected from the contest, Perell also ruled the party's leadership organizing committee does have the authority to disqualify a candidate and could still choose to do so in this case -- which it has now done.
Need to do same to O'Toole now for using Parliament resources for a Partisan Campaign. Disgusting use if Taxpayers money.
Backroom club. Vote against OToole & McKay
Both the CPOC and its LEOC fail miserably at delineating and consistently applying triage criteria for both its riding candidates and leadership candidates. Et voilà..potage du jour!
This does not make me sad.
Bye bye jimkarahalios.
I know nothing about Karahalios. But our current leader is silently supporting hijab/turban bans in Quebec, has a decade(s) long history of blackface and is the global face of cultural appropriation. - Does this Karahalios guy really have a racist history worse than that?
The CPC is accusing Trudeau of trampling over democracy during COVID19 but they are trampling over grassroots democracy right now. Seems a little hypocritical.
LOL good.
