Through no fault of her own, Olsen, 33, didn’t pick the most opportune time to split from Olivier Sarkozy, the 50-year-old French banker she started dating in 2012. In order to get a divorce, you must deliver a physical copy of divorce filings to a court. Per the outlet, Olsen signed a petition for divorce on April 17.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Olsen claims that Sarkozy terminated their lease without her knowledge and is attempting to force her out of their New York City apartment. He reportedly gave her a deadline of May 18, which didn’t grant Olsen enough time; she claims that Sarkozy’s lawyers only informed her attorneys of the deadline this week. As a result, she’s been pushing Sarkozy to extend the deadline until May 30, but she says he has been unresponsive. Hence, her emergency order.
What a mess! I hope that after all of this, Olsen celebrates with a bowl of cigarettes all to herself. Finalizing this divorce will certainly be worthy of a celebration.
