As workers and employers get back to business in the coming weeks, solicitor Richard Grogan says there will have to be flexibility on both sides.

The problem here is that the employee would not be entitled to the government’s Covid-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment and would have to wait up to nine weeks to sign up to regular Jobseekers’ Allowance. Furthermore, Grogan says that it might be reasonable for a multinational corporation to “set you up to work from home,” but “what’s reasonable for a two-partner accountancy firm in the Midlands?”

But Grogan says that are lingering questions for business owners and employees, which haven’t been answered.
