Former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha has asked an Owerri High Court to stop the House of Assembly from probing him for allegedly mismanaging N19.63billion council funds.

The state Auditor-General for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs had issued an interim audit report detailing how N19.63b fraudulently disappeared from the Local Government accounts between May and December 31, 2019.

Two days after the origination summons was filed, Ihedioha’s counsel, S.A Anyalewechi, dispatched a letter to the Speaker asking him to restrain the House and its agents from inviting his client for an investigation. The money was allegedly taken from the State-Local Government Joint Accounts Allocation Committee through the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs .

According to the Commissioner, the money was illegally withdrawn from JAAC account without any Memorandum of Understanding , Stores Receipt Vouchers or Stores Issue Vouchers .

Why are you stopping the probe, if at the end of the day you are not guilty, you go, but if you are guilty you face the law

Less than how many months oga?

Pdp and apc government are the Same. They will quickly run to court. Politicians are wicked

These guys never cease to amaze me

Power is indeed transient. Isn't this the same Ihedioha who during his brief stint as Imo Gov unleashed his thugs on his predecessor & members of his family in the name of probe/recovery of illegally acquired assets?

Chei, Imo my Imo, who has so cursed thee! I weep for I know thy heart bleeds, wither Sam Mbakwe🤮🤧 for glorious were his days. If this is true, then he who hast mudered thee in sleep shall see no sleep generations over.

Oga go and answers your name, leave judiciary they're doing their job ok.

Probe his ass..thief

Im even surprised by the slow trial, they should show him his type of lawlessness, confiscate all his assets, when people were asking him to tread with caution he refused

Just imagine. Someone was accused of stealing and then runs to court to tell the court to stop people from looking at what he was alleged to have stolen. Only in Nigeria. Oga u must face probe and the law. Thieves .

Chisus! Who would have believed this, that a sitting governor for less than a year has looted over 19b. Our politicians are horrible HE_HopeUzodimma probe everything about him being in office, contracts awarded and many more. If he is found wanting do not hesitate to jail him.

Seriously, why should you not give back the money you stole

Nineteen billion naira in just six months! What would have happened if...?
