QC gov’t to issue show-cause orders to barangay officials over anomalies in SAP aid distribution

In an interview, she said those found guilty may face administrative and criminal charges “for violations of Republic Act No. 3019, Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, Falsification, Fraud Against the Public Treasury, Malversation and Robbery’’ in relation to anomalies in the distribution of the cash aid under the SAP.

Pursuant to Belmonte’s directive, the Quezon City government has commenced a full-blown investigation into the actions of certain barangay officials and employees who have allegedly abused their power or neglected their duties in the distribution of the SAP cash grants. As the Constitution provides further, Belmonte added “Public officers and employees must, at all times, be accountable to the people, serve them with utmost responsibility, integrity, loyalty, and efficiency.”

She vowed to enforce the full force of the law against the guilty parties, saying “any violation or disregard thereof will never be condoned or tolerated in this city.”[email protected]Earlier, President Duterte on national television cursed Kagawad Danilo Flores of Barangay San Agustin in Hagonoy, Bulacan for deducting P3,500 from the financial assistance received by his constituents.
