The 26-year-old Dane took to his social media to announce that he will become a father later this year.
Axelsen did not reveal his partner but it is believed to be compatriot and former international Natalia Koch Rohde.“I’m happy to finally share some great news with you. My girlfriend and I are expecting a baby girl this autumn , ” said world No. 4 Axelsen.“I hope all of you are doing well despite this special time in the world. Stay safe.”
The pleasant news could not have come at a better time for Axelsen in the midst of all sporting events worldwide coming to a standstill due to Covid-19 pandemic. He also helped Denmark retain the European Team Championship in February as well as finishing runner-up to Japan’s world No. 1 Kento Momota at the Malaysian Masters in January.
