As Calquence enters into a randomized, controlled clinical trial, the NCI noted that while the drug is already approved in the U.S. for some blood cancers, it is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a treatment for COVID-19. Early last week, AstraZeneca formed a COVID-19 task force after receiving early data regarding patients given Calquence by the NCI. Baselga said that within 72 hours the company had completed drafting a COVID-19 clinical trial and submitted it to the FDA, the fastest study he has ever seen put together in his 30-year career. Such an effort would normally take more than three months.
One tricky issue AstraZeneca has had to work through is how to give Calquence, which is a capsule, to patients who are on ventilators. AstraZeneca is advising doctors to give the drug through a tube in a solution made up of Coca-Cola, which due to its acidity properly liquefies the powder. The drug has already been administered in such a fashion.
Wasn't the clinical trial with Calquence (acalabrutinib) on covid-19 patients approved? Searches at didn't retrive any studies. It was supposed to have been performed at Walter Reed General Hospital (or Walter Reed Army Medical Center). AstraZeneca
femin9Returned All for pushing for vaccines but this is exactly what happened in the movie I am Legend and look what went wrong there.
Enough of this stories , we need the drug or vaccine .Finito
I am not against statements like this. I AM against over stating the use of drugs being tested. We had people lose their damn minds over chloroquine and I do NOT want to see that happen with every drug we try. Responsible reporting is essential at any time but especially now.
they're probably going to get attacked too, generally speaking. So many different things show promise? Why not just focus on better diets. They have scientific research on those plants/herbs/mushrooms. That's what's used to inspire the drugs. They should be growing more.
Best of luck and let’s hope for best
