The Trump administration is increasingly turning to delegation — an obscure bureaucratic tactic that passes authority down to subordinates — to fill top government jobs without Senate confirmation. Critics say that may violate federal law.

Also at the Department of Homeland Security, there's Randolph"Tex" Alles, who's serving as the senior official performing the duties of the under secretary for management. At the Department of the Interior, William Perry Pendley is serving as the deputy director of policy programs at the Bureau of Land Management,"exercising the authority" of the director.

But the Trump administration has never formally nominated Cuccinelli — or many of these other controversial officials — for the jobs they're doing, so there's nothing for the Senate to vote on.

You say that as if violating federal law would be a concern of this administration

Seems like a Senate problem to me. Tell me again npr gets money from Federsl government?

Correction. Those apposed to Trump complain about something they dont like and cant prove is wrong.

Congress blocks all these Trump appointments by stretching the process out for months/year. The recommended appointees cannot put their lives on hold for months so Trump most appoint 'acting' folk to fill key void.

I'm not sure how obscure the idea of delegation is.

...we will end this....

Sorry, did you just...did you just explain delegation as 'obscure?'

well, what do we need from this

You wanna blame anything, blame the fact that 'Senate votes' now have zero to do with how qualified someone is. They're about grandstanding and quieting threats by partisan voters. Period.

Pretty sure Obama did this. How could we have Vidmans and Strzoks seeded in the highest offices of our land prepared to enact a coup

Oh Lord, can we please have the election tomorrow? 😯

Im sure the dims will sue him... again Sooo we will see

crooked man.
