KUALA LUMPUR: Wisma MCA has initiated epidemic preventive measures and is disinfecting the auditorium, elevators and offices in the building to contain and prevent the possibility of the Covid-19 outbreak spreading.

This follows reports that a lawyer at the Kuala Lumpur Bar AGM on Feb 27, which was held in the building, had tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement Saturday , the building management said that since the outbreak of Covid-19, it had provided hand sanitisers to visitors as well as carried out regular disinfection and other epidemic prevention efforts. Currently, the management has stepped up preventive measures, including requiring all visitors to undergo temperature screening.

"Safeguarding the interests, health and well-being of our employees and tenants as well as visitors is our priority. "We adhere to the guidelines set by the Health Ministry and urge anyone who exhibits symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath to seek medical treatment immediately," the statement read.
