PETALING JAYA: Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today said he wants to clear his name in court despite being part of the new Perikatan Nasional coalition government.
The Bagan Datuk MP, who is facing 87 charges of criminal breach of trust, money laundering and accepting bribes, had his trial postponed today as he is slated to meet with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. “Tomorrow, March 3, my case will continue as usual. The case is not dropped as with other cases before this.He added that he wants the court to decide on his case despite his claim that the case was politically motivated.
Zahid, a former deputy prime minister, is facing charges related to Yayasan Akalbudi funds and accepting bribes for various projects during his tenure as home minister.
