A cease-and-desist letter from a law firm retained by Flav says the use of the group's name for a March 1 event promotes a"false narrative to the American people" since the artist isn't endorsing the candidate.
The artist, real name William Drayton, has enlisted a law firm to try and get the presidential campaign to drop its use of the name Public Enemy in association with the rally because it promotes a "false narrative to the American people" that the group has endorsed Sanders. The letter adds, "The continued publicizing of this grossly misleading narrative is, at a minimum, careless and irresponsible if not intentionally misleading. Flav is reaching out, not in the spirit of division, but for the sake of unity in the hope of preserving the integrity of the Public Enemy Movement and the faith and trust his millions of fans around the world have placed in him."

Chuck D is an original founding member and still in the group touring and making music. Flavor Flav isn't. It's not his call what gigs the group does now.
Flavor Flav was always the less political, clownish part of Public Enemy. No respect for this guy... he even skipped out on coming to the gig when I saw PublicEnemy in Sydney.
