1. The Supreme Court has struck out the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the review of the Bayelsa Governorship election. The Court in its ruling said the appeal lacked merit and as a result, struck out. Justice Amina Augie who read the judgment pointed out that the apex court’s decisions were final.
3. The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State has said its national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is qualified to be the president of Nigeria in 2023. Giving reasons, the party said Tinubu’s commitment, resourcefulness and pedigree put him in good stead to lead Nigeria. The newly-elected Secretary of State Party, Lanre Ogunyemi said this during a press briefing in Lagos to unveil newly elected executives.
5. A Corporal of the Nigerian Army serving at the Theatre Command, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Army Super Camp 15, Borno State, has killed four of his colleagues. He also injured two others before committing suicide. The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa, disclosed this in a statement, adding that the incident took place on Wednesday morning. Musa added that the wounded personnel are currently in a stable condition at the Nigerian army hospital in Maiduguri.
7. The Secretary-General of apex Igbo socio-political organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Barr Uche Okwukwu, on Wednesday reacted to the comment by Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State on the 2023 presidency, saying that the Kaduna State Governor was right in his position on zoning of the presidency to the South. He insisted that the Southeast and South-South should be allowed to produce the country’s next president.
