The Justice Department hosted a workshop Wednesday to debate the importance of Section 230, which protects online platforms from being legally liable for their users' posts.
Attorney General William Barr said the discussion was part of a "holistic approach" the department is taking toward the tech industry, in addition to the Antitrust Division's efforts. Barr questioned if Section 230's immunity still make sense in a world where a small number of tech companies have massive scale and host a large amount of public discourse.

This review by barr & others is a lot bigger than what his motivations are. Use of social media platforms for disinformation by political parties & private groups is growing big time. Outright slander, bullying attacks, etc. are growing under 1st A protection. Gotta be an answer.
