The Trump administration dramatically escalated its war with so-called sanctuary states today, filing suit against California and New Jersey over laws that federal officials say undermine immigration enforcement

The Trump administration dramatically escalated its war with so-called sanctuary states Monday, filing suit against California and New Jersey over laws that federal officials say undermine immigration enforcement.

“They have put in place policies and laws designed to thwart the ability of federal officers to take custody of these criminals and thereby help them escape back into the community. They often proudly brand their jurisdictions as 'sanctuaries,'and package their obstructive policies in idealistic and misleading rhetoric about “protecting the immigrant community.”

The new lawsuits against the states appear to be part of a growing assertiveness on the part of the Trump administration against so-called sanctuary cities and states. Last week, the Department of Homeland Security announced that it would no longer enroll New York residents in trusted traveler programs like Global Entry and Nexus because of a new state law limiting DHS officials' access to drivers license and vehicle registration information.

It’s an all out assault on anybody who is against this corrupt administration

America needs law and order to be a safe nation...the politicians need to respect these laws! If the dems are going to throw the nation to the wolves, Trump has to step in...!

Protect US citizens

Says a man whom all three wives were immigrants .

Thank God! 👏👏👏

Criminals and cowards

Thank you DOJ.

Barr is danger danger danger

So sanctuary laws are worse than locking kids in cages. Got it!

U2Ihear I pray these & other state’s laws are flushed. Sanctuary & impeding law enforcement laws passed by the likes of Gov’s Newsom & Como are detrimental to normal people. Mayor DeBlasio is even worse. God help us, who votes for this trash.

Bout time!

I hope California annexes from the Republic

Yes!

Do Massachusetts next. Kids can go to public schools with out ms13 gang members

Stop your dog whistling. This is what he actually said.

Sanctuary cities/states need to stop harboring illegal aliens. Theses people are here illegally and local police departments should be cooperating with ICE and assisting them in the enforcement of federal laws.

Well done!

Hell yeah!! Trump2020LandslideVictory

'Illegal aliens'? Ahem. In California they're called 'Undocumented Immigrants' as though they are terrific additions to the US as long as a document or two is straightened out.

Now that we're focusing on November, DT is upping his game to satisfy his base (which fundamentally benefits himself keeping their vote so he can win again) like everything else he does. Thus, this act's broadcasting to them that he remains in the white nationalist camp.

California's got plenty of lawsuits against Trump and he only wishes he was as smart, fit, & liked, as Gavin Newsom!

But who will work at his NJ golf resorts if he has them all deported?

Trump is always undermining laws..., like not going to Congress first on many issues...Voters have until November to decide if he stays in the White House or goes to Florida to retire? After all he is too old now and loosing his marbles! Enough is enough and enough is too much!

Good!

About time these traitors get punished

Awesome

NJ is a shit show and it should be sued! Crime is up, taxes are up, quality of life down - the trifecta of democrat failed policies.

Fine bring it on👿👿👿

Where those 'states rights' zealots at? Guess they got too good a deal on those maga hats.

Who controls Sheriffs and local police departments? State or local?
