WATCH: Andrew Yang promotes term limits for Supreme Court Justices, saying, 'We should modernize term limits on the Supreme Court ... this would de-politicize it, so that you didn't have a political firestorm every time a justice stepped down.'

Andrew Yang claimed that "we should not have lifetime appointments for Supreme Court justices" and proposed a possible term limit at the 'Our Rights, Our Courts' presidential forum.

But it was okay when Dems were the majority huh. Poor souls. Trump will affect the nation for decade's to come with the Judges he has put on the bench.

Steve36903371 Yes!!! Please we need Andrew Yang to get things done.

Damn this guy is so smart! If you’re curious about his other awesome policies go research him!

Excellent

SO TRUE

I agree

Totally agree.

With term limits you’d likely end up with more experienced and perhaps more qualified judges than the current option which is to put someone in their late 40’s and can be on the beach for 40 years. It seems like it’s a reasonable idea.

Bingo

We need term limits on all federal judgeships and also in Congress and Senate. Framers never intended that people would make careers out of being a politician.

How about we start with “modernizing” term limits on Congress first.

What a Clown.

I support him 1000%. There should also be term limit for senators and congress.

Don’t forget senators

When the Dems don’t get their way this is the BS they cone up with

Time to drop out sweetie

Age limits make more sense

Yes, and federal judges as well. They should have end of terms staggered so one party does not control them all.

You make sense.

Oh, that's nice. Yang wants to change our Supreme Court now?

Term limits for every branch except Legislative... WHY DO PEOPLE NOT WANT TERM LIMITS FOR CONGRESS!?

I agree

Then you would have a political firestorm to replace all of them every few elections. 🙄

Yes, Yang is right on this.

How about term limits on senators and congressmen

Agreed.

Dems always trying to change the rules: electoral college, increasing number of SC judges and now SC term limits.

And this will depoliticize it how?

10 years. Tops.

Agree 100%

lifetime appointments is such an archaic concept of centuries past when you think about it. There should be conditional term limits for congress and senate too.

Yeah we should have judges for every occasion or party or elected president. Politics nowadays is about the Party n not ppl peopleBeforeParty

How about term limits for Congress and the Senate. These congressman and senators are the ones with the inability to be partial. Democrats would now like to challenge the interpretation of Article lll in our constitution? Why am I not surprised!!!

How does this depoliticize it? You will have a political firestorm every time you have to replace a justice. What are the limits? This makes no sense

Uh no. Mr Yang. The whole point of the Supreme Court is Wisdom and experience. Might I remind you of The political winds That got us Here.

I agree with this. Should have them for all courts.

Term limits all the way around DC

Or require they get a supermajority in Congress to stop overly partisan figures from making it it to the court.

That is not the answer Putang it only causes the same problem more often

We need term limits on EVERY MEMBER OF OUR GOVERNMENT. Advocate for that huh. We have people in office that have ZERO clue what’s actually going on out here, we need fresh meat with new ideas. Not someone just passing the time and showing up because they have to

Or would president ivanka get to replace all of them with family members?

absolutely

The only person running that ever makes sense

We need term limits for members of Congress. Supreme Court tenure is in the constitution. Congress is not.

Yes! Great idea! Now do, convicting Trump and not pardoning him.

Yang is a 🤡

SCOTUS will only be depoliticized after the Senate supermajority for confirmation is restored, and that ain't happening any time soon.

I like it. Term limits need to be across the board anyway
