A federal appeals court threw out a lawsuit brought by Democratic lawmakers that accused President Donald Trump of violating anti-corruption provisions in the U.S. Constitution with his business dealings

WASHINGTON - A federal appeals court on Friday threw out a lawsuit brought by Democratic lawmakers that accused Donald Trump of violating anti-corruption provisions in the U.S. Constitution with his business dealings, capping a week of political victories for the Republican president.

Trump still faces two similar lawsuits pending in other courts that also accuse him of violating the Constitution’s rarely tested “emoluments” clauses that bar presidents from taking gifts or payments from foreign and state governments. Reuters/Ipsos polling shows that Trump’s approval rating has been largely unchanged by impeachment, with 42 percent of Americans approving of his performance as president.

The Democratic lawmakers “can, and likely will, continue to use their weighty voices to make their case to the American people, their colleagues in the Congress and the President himself,” the three-judge panel wrote. “But we will not - indeed we cannot - participate in this debate.”One of the two other emoluments lawsuits against Trump, brought by the Democratic attorneys general for the District of Columbia and Maryland, is awaiting a ruling by the Richmond, Virginia-based 4th U.S.

Did they have witnesses and documents?

Dang, American democracy is done😳

Go, Ahead. Mad King Trump. Just do whatever you want. There's always a 'Wall of Lawyers' to protect you.

So much winning!

The democrats REALLY don't like following procedure with legal cases. Surely, they haven't forgotten, they need to have probable cause in order to get judges to issue warrants/subpoenas. They can't just demand, and then sue when told to piss off. When will they learn?

😲 😲 😲

Courts that have strategically been filled with conservative and Republican supporting Judges according to recent news.

Wow! Just wow...

Welcome to the world of stacked courts. Please sit back and enjoy the next 40 years.

Even judges don’t know how to law

Not surprise!

ZZtsd More emoluments trials coming.

Wonder who appointed those three judges...

It ain’t over yet!

Lacked standing? You have got to be fucking kidding me. They are the enforcers, the balance against violations of the Constitution. They have the MOST standing. This is a travesty.

Almost starting to appear like the US Constitution isn’t worth the parchment it’s written on. (Except the sacred Second Amendment, of course.)

Nek lev corruption

The meaning is obvious.Whether it is legal or can produce evidence, it is not the U.S. president who is not qualified to bring any lawsuit against the president, and the U.S. president has absolute priority in law. What use is the constitution?

Drain the Swamp. Yep. Draining it right into his own pockets.

who are the judges and who appointed them

That’s the reason realDonaldTrump & senatemajldr have been STACKING the COURTS for 3 years.

I read an article earlier that named the three Judges.

Can the federal court please share the reasonable justification for why they feel the office was ! used 4 personal gains. MoF, can they share their vision 4 future after giving acceptance 2 such actions of an individual as the most powerful individual 1. U've been checked💐stay🖖

We should be very, very worried. uncheckedpower TrumpMustGo

Now we know that democracy is gone. Waiting to change the country name to.....Uganda or Chad.

On the grounds that they lacked 'Standing!' I opine any US citizen has standing. This is a bad decision.

DisbarBarr

Did this involve any Trump-appointed judges or others he may have appointed to the fed appeals court?

We will never get tired of winning!
