Senators ‘reluctant’ to stand surety for Maina – Lawyer

The judge, Okon Abang, who is presiding over the matter, had asked the defendant’s lawyer, whether Mr Maina has been able to perfect his bail conditions.Mr Maina’s lawyer further said he is trying to explore other strategies to ensure that the bail conditions are fully complied with.Mr Maina is being prosecuted by the EFCC on a 12-count charge bordering on money laundering, operating fictitious accounts and other fraudulent activities.

Unable to meet those bail conditions, the former PRTT chairman through his lawyer appealed to the court to vary the bail conditions.
