Well it was a sham from the outset, so don’t act so surprised. There were witnesses; they testified in the House investigation. So this will be the first presidential impeachment where the defense put on no witnesses because the case was so weak they were unnecessary.
My speculation is that POTUS will be acquitted and the Dems will have to weather the hurricane, category four, of the tweets from Mr. Trump; that will ensure him victory at the polls during the 2020 Election in U.S. America
