Lawyer and former Army Officer Glenn Kolomeitz says the Red Cross “have to regain trust” and can start by “getting rid of the advisory board and bringing in proper governance”.

This comes after the charity faced considerable criticism after it was reported it would give only $30 million to bushfire-affected victims from over $95 million received in donations.

Mr Kolomeitz added he’d never seen an organisation run the way the Australian Red Cross is run. “They need to get out there and say we did the wrong thing and say sorry to the towns affected”. Image: News Corp Australia

I never donate to these big charities for the reason that admin costs take most of the donations. It is time for them to be investigated! What is the salary of the CEO's and managers who sit in their offices and collect the interest!

Hello RedCrossAU to regain trust, u can start by getting rid of those chuggers in the city and cleaning out your bloated management structure

macsween_prue Would the fat cat executives payed 100 of thousands of dollars accept 30% of their salary now and the rest at a later time ,Zero dollars to these idiots . Will not be donating any more . And they changed their story after they got court out!!!

It’s a shame that other charities as well may suffer from the feeling of once bitten twice shy. Trust once lost is hard if not impossible to regain.

sorry but i think from now on people will be very weary handing their donations to you guys

They're finished, people won't forget this morally bankrupt act.

I would not trust the Red Cross to sit the right way on a toilet seat. It is an international bureaucracy with exorbitantly paid CEOs and a bloated self serving infrastructure. It’s the UN 2.0

cool_your_jets They will never gain trust again. We now know them for what they are, a collection agency for the global cabal. Who in their right mind would donate hard earned cash to the elite 1% of wealthiest and most corrupt people in the world?

No one should ever trust red cross again for lying to the public.

The Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund was set up to enable Red Cross to help people prepare for, cope with and recover from disasters –EXACTLY HOW MUCH MONEY IS ALLOCATED TO PEOPLE TO PREPARE FOR A DISASTER, ? SEEMS LIKE A GREAT PROMOTIONAL SCAM.

We need a Royal Commission into this foundation and you will be surprised at what we find ..Just a greedy foundation and Shameful ...jail time to CEO and staff

Not when they use the money we gave for Fire Victims that's Fire Victims not to run the Red Cross they have stepped over the line .It's not your money if you can't do the job step aside Just totally discussed with your foundation.. Also I hear you owe over twenty million to staff

The advisory board could start by making a commitment to the bush fire donating public NOT to take any advertising costs, NOT to take any property rental costs as they will not be renting any additional space for the bushfires and costs already covered day to day. No bonuses!!

Why would you donate to them for a course & that course doesn't get it...greedy RedCrossAU 🖕

By this Sky mean, put Libs in charge, who would just give the money to themselves

Sadly, they have to admit they have a problem at the top and how they allocate admin costs. The advisory board need to first accept that ALL of the money donated MUST go to the people in dire straights NOW. And that they have NO RIGHT to make any decision to hold monies. TRUST
