Centre for Independent Studies commentator Jacinta Price says the fact that 23 per cent of partner homicide victims in Australia are Indigenous “is an absolute crisis considering Indigenous Australians make up only three per cent of the population”.

Ms Price told Sky News for those who have lived by traditional cultural law “we know that as females we are secondary to males” and that there are “very real punishments if we do the wrong thing”.

“The argument often from the left is that we need to recognise customary law and I am absolutely perplexed when these suggestions,” she said. “I know of circumstances where women are targeted and it is all because of the law that governs us to this day. It shouldn’t be the case.

No, Jacinta thinks she works in this area, but she doesn’t! Far more professional Women work in this area to resolve this issue- some little girl with an ideological sound bytes does not constitute authority in the area of family violence!

Stupid little girl

its quite relevant

Indigenous people want protection but not our laws. The prison population supports this view. Indigenous people need to start at home and not expect government intervention, that is never the solution.

RitaPanahi Hang on. Wasn't this all taken care of when MrKRudd said 'Sorry' in 2007? Maybe some hashtags and a few calendar changes will solve the problem?

And who are the perpetrators?

Young Aboriginal men killing their partners, nothing new. Think about how Aboriginals make up 3% of the population, so how much does young Aboriginal men make up out of that? Sort out your communities, step up elders.

They need to stay off the hooch.

for gods sake are non indigenous people out there encouraging aboriginal and torres straight islanders to commit domestic violence. Yes it can be said society contributes through a lack of education or support however there is also scope for personal responisibility

RitaPanahi Have alot of time for Jacinta, as she really does want the best for indigenous people, and is calling a spade a spade

But then we are accused of the so called stolen generation !!! Need to make up ya mind !!!moneyspin?

I guess that’s why there’s marches on Sunday right? 😉🤷🏻‍♂️

Sky News pundits regularly attack women and has recently been attacking Bruce Pascoe regarding his racial background. You are part of the F'ng problem.

RitaPanahi Check out how the evasive and deceitful ABC attempted to spin these horrific stats recently into something more useful to their agenda. Blaming “oppression” & 'continued racism' 4:50, & even using the word 'genocide' 1:00 to imply something totally untrue.

RitaPanahi It shows it's a culture problem with in that community. Open your eyes and stop making excuses.

Time to put your thinking caps on. The Government must now realise that throwing money at our indigenous population is not going to solve the problem. Get with it.

..... I read to the end of these comments & shook my head ..... The story is about innocent women being violently murdered in DV homicides ... that is the what should upset us all - we are almost numb to it, so many women are killed by DV in Aust.. 1 life lost is 1 too many

RitaPanahi Confirmation of WhitePrivilege White women are privileged not to die as often as other races at the hands of their privileged white spouses.

RitaPanahi And when you remember the massive increase in self-declared indigenous Australians in recent years )the urban elitist ones who tend to work at the ABC), those death are certainly concentrated in a subset of that 3%

RitaPanahi And the partners were....?...

drop that word 'Indigenous' - it only serves as an excuse for criminal activity

RitaPanahi Shall we do a statistical analysis of the overall trends for say - the last 200 years, as a starting point.

DV in remote indigenous communities is known about & denied. What is the solution? Do we at least agree it must stop, even with more arrests? Can an indigenous culture support a prosperous & forward looking remote community to a general Australian standard?

RitaPanahi That seems soooo familiar 🤔
