KUALA LUMPUR: The Inspector-General of Police has commended the men and women in blue for various accomplishments last year.

Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said the successes included the Criminal Investigation Department bringing down indexed crime by 7.5%, with 249 cases per 100,000 people in 2019 compared with 269 cases in 2018.

“Out of 101,404 operations conducted last year, they managed to arrest 3,086 traffic offenders and 296 for other crimes. “They made history through Ops Eagle on Sept 10,2019 by seizing 12 tonnes of cocaine worth RM2.4bil in Penang.
