Trump Impeachment Trial Set to Begin With Clashes Expected in the SenateThe Senate will open the impeachment trial of President Trump in earnest Tuesday by taking up a measure laying out rules for the proceeding, setting up clashes over the process at the very start. Is the media allowed to just point out how absurd this whole thing is, or do they have to pretend it is serious? WSJ must know Nancy is full of BS , right? There is nothing happening here. Three years nothing. o lord... I wonder how many democratic senators who represent Trump heavy districts will stand for what right or for what will give them better re-election odds. 🤔 best part about 'abuse of power': a blanket statement that's an opinion and not a violation of the law. some people are actually allowed to violate the law, like Crooked Hillary (perjury, obstruction of justice), Comey (perjury, treason) and the rest of the gang. ‘Caught bluffing’: See Trump trial begin as GOP Sen. McConnell backs down on rulesIn this report on Day 1 of Pres. Trump’s impeachment trial, MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber breaks down the key moments, the high stakes wrangling over the rules, and the top clips of both sides making their historic arguments on the Senate floor. Melber notes that for the first time today, a President who boycotted the entire house process made contact with the debate over his fitness for office, and Melber fact-checks some of the key claims. He also reports that the Democratic House Managers’ argument boiled down to some famous lines from the iconic courtroom film “A Few Good Men,” and whether everyone involved in the trial can “handle the truth.” (MSNBC Digital Exclusive.) AriMelber SQUIRREL!!!!!!!!!!! AriMelber Important moments? There were none. The GOP's goal was to make these hearings as mind-numbingly boring as possible. They succeeded. Rich white liberals acted like themselves, and Normal America yawned & tuned out. Nobody. Cares. See you in November.
