Jacob Zuma has dodged being summoned before the StateCaptureInquiry after Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo accepted his legal team's submission that he is ill.

Johannesburg — Former president Jacob Zuma has dodged being summoned before the state capture commission after Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo accepted his legal team's submission that he is ill and would be undergoing medical treatment next month. Zuma abandoned his testimony at the commission in July, objecting to the line of questioning. He then missed two scheduled appearances, with his lawyers saying he was ill. They did not give details.

Advocate Thabani Masuku SC, for Zuma, insisted that there was no basis for issuing the summons sought by evidence leaders and that his client's medical team was prepared to meet with Zondo, the commission's chairman, to brief him in private on the former president's medical condition. The commission is investigating wide-ranging allegations of corruption during Zuma's tenure from 2009 to 2018, when he resigned under pressure from the ruling party.

SundayTribuneSA His only sickness is one of moral decadence, shamelessness, withdrawal symptoms from being unable to continue looting & stealing. SA need to be liberated from it's 'liberators'. Black politicians in general have done more to impoverish blacks than 45 yrs of apartheid politics.

Pravin Gordhan's friends, abo Adv Pretorius, failed to secure irrefutable evidence other than hearsay, to implicate the man and now want him to entrap himself by their accusatory line of questioning? Nc nc nc nc! What a waste of a Rbillion on this Commission!

He is a liarbetic with type 1 and 2 Liarbetes!

If the Commission accept that the former States man is ill, why do you come to the conclusion that he is dodging the commission?

Rubbish

Hell no!!! He told the elders in Nkandla that he was perfectly fine during the annual Christmas party 😳

Dodged? Really? The question that should be asked is why is the President harassed? Zuma StateCaptureInquiry

Amazing how all these politicians are at deaths door.

There goes what's left of Zondo's credibility, then. His commission is going to end the same way the Seriti farce investigation of the Arms Deal did.
