Apple said it's provided 'gigabytes of information' to law enforcement related to the case of the alleged shooter in Pensacola, Florida.

representative also attended the hearing, defending the company's plans to make its entire private messaging system end-to-end encryption, which law enforcement fear will make it harder for them to track down instances of child exploitation, as they do now.

Apple pledged to continue working with the FBI. But unless the company agrees to provide a way for law enforcement to access encrypted devices, it seems clear Barr won't be fully satisfied. We reject the characterization that Apple has not provided substantive assistance in the Pensacola investigation. Our responses to their many requests since the attack have been timely, thorough and are ongoing.

We responded to each request promptly, often within hours, sharing information with FBI offices in Jacksonville, Pensacola and New York. The queries resulted in many gigabytes of information that we turned over to investigators. In every instance, we responded with all of the information that we had.

I struggle to believe that people actually believe the government can’t hack a iPhone .

If you allow for an exploit, it will be exploited This is a really tough concept to grasp for some* apparently *Some = Law Enforcement

This is a correct position by Apple. If DOJ needs it, get court order. Pensacolashooting Barr is playing politics with tragedy. AliVelshi

The US Government should ban the use of all Apple products by US Government employees and contractors. The government has the right to reasonable search and seizure. There is no right to prevent or interfere with the governments duty to protect the public.

Apple POV: Privacy-1, Government-0 Hawk POV: Terrorists-1, Security-0 I don't care which, I'd just like to see a significant AAPL pullback.

The right thing to do, don’t let them bully you !
