WASHINGTON - The head of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee said on Sunday he wants the Senate to launch an impeachment trial of President Donald Trump within days and wrap it up this month, even if it means changing Senate rules.
Speaking on Fox News Channel's"Sunday Morning Futures," Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said he wants to change the Senate rules to kick start a trial if Pelosi does not send the articles of impeachment. "My goal is to start this trial in the next coming days," Graham said."If we don't get the articles this week, then we need to take matters in our own hands and change the rules."
With no agreement in sight on how to proceed, senators on Monday are expected to resume consideration of a nominee to head the Small Business Administration as they return to town for business after a holiday break.
Give Pelosi 3 days to forward to articles of impeachment to the Senate. If not, declare it null and void.
