Deputy public prosecutor Zaki Asyraf Zubir told reporters that judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan fixed the date in chambers after being informed by the prosecution that it was still in the process of serving the notice of summons against Goldman Sachs .
In December last year, Malaysia filed four charges against Goldman Sachs for allegedly leaving out material facts on the sale of bonds between a subsidiary of 1MDB and Aabar Investment PJS Ltd . The company was charged under Section 179 of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007, which carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years and a fine of not less than RM1mil, upon conviction.
