US Senator Lisa Murkowski - a key potential Republican swing vote - says she is 'disturbed' by the Senate majority leader's statement last week that the verdict in President Donald Trump's upcoming impeachment trial was already determined

US Senator Lisa Murkowski - a key potential Republican swing vote - says she is "disturbed" by the Senate majority leader's statement last week that the verdict in President Donald Trump's upcoming impeachment trial was already determined.

Senator Mitch McConnell, has called the House's case for impeachment "so darn weak", he said there was "zero chance" Trump would be removed from office by the Senate. The majority leader alsoCredit:Murkowski, from Alaska, told NBC affiliate KTUU television that she believed there should be distance between the Senate, which will serve as the jury for Trump's impeachment trial, and the White House.

"To me, it means we have to take that step back from being hand-in-glove with the defence," Murkowski said. The senior senator said she felt House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, had rushed impeachment so it could be wrapped up before Christmas. The House, Murkowski said, mishandled the process when two key witnesses followed White House direction and refused to testify.

Although the House voted on December 18 to impeach Trump on two articles for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, Pelosi has yet to formally send them to the Senate for a trial. First, Pelosi said, she wants to know "what sort of trial the Senate will conduct.

Disturbed about the honesty and not the typical double two step innuendo they spew.

Key? Requires 27 GOP to support. No chance. Waste of time. SkyNewsAust australian GuardianAus

How badly the media want Trump beaten 😁

Was the Editor of the SMH concerned with the already determined verdict of the House of reps
