Najib Razak’s trials for corruption, power abuse and money laundering may likely spill into 2021.

In the first case, he is also charged with three counts of money laundering and three counts of criminal breach of trust in the transfer of RM42 million to his accounts from the former 1MDB unit.It is not clear how many witnesses the defence will call. The trial is scheduled to resume on Jan 6. In the second case, Najib faces four charges of using his position to obtain bribes totalling RM2.3 billion from 1MDB funds and 21 charges of money laundering involving the same amount.
