Former president faces prospect of going on trial in May 2020 and a possible 25-year jail term

BL PREMIUMFormer president Jacob Zuma, who faces the prospect of a 25-year jail term if found guilty of corruption, insists he has been “used as a scapegoat” in the multibillion-rand arms deal.

If the state was “genuine” about investigating the arms deal, Zuma contends, it should have investigated “others closer to decision making”, including his political nemesis, former president Thabo Mbeki.A subscription helps you enjoy the best of our business content every day along with benefits such as exclusive Financial Times articles, ProfileData financial data, and digital access to the Sunday Times and Times Select.

If is what he thinks he's fall guy then go to court & state your side of the story. What's difficult?. In every case your a victim.

NOW we know by his own admission he is guilty him admitting he is the fall guy in part says oh I admit that I took part in corruption by using this expression I am the fall guy admitting I admit I took part but others wR the kingpins now if the SCA judges SEE THIS

They just gave him money because they liked him..this naughty Capitalists!! He just took it to keep it in a place of safety to give it back with interest (our whole economy)

So everyone from Mpshe who erroneously dropped the 783 charges right down to those who were willing to kill for Zuma and who put him in power & protected him during all those votes of no confidence should also be held accountable? I'm totally all for it. 👍👍

Then he must give us the dirt on his cronies too
