The application was in relation with Deepak’s suit to seek a declaration that Najib and Rosmah are liable to bear the payment of tax arrears imposed on him and his company for being proxies to the couple.
Counsel Cheryl Chong Wei Teng acted for Najib and Rosmah while counsel Arwinder Gill represented Azeez.Deepak had filed the suit together with Carpet Raya Sdn Bhd and Rajesh Jaikishan on Nov 15, last year. Deepak claimed that the third defendant had acted as an agent and middle man to Najib and Rosmah to make the transactions with Carpet Raya.
Therefore, they are seeking for a declaration that Najib and Rosmah are the ones responsible to make the outstanding tax payment imposed on them and the company.
