PETALING JAYA: Deputy minister Hanipa Maidin has recommended that former prime minister Najib Razak file a defamation suit to counter allegations that he ordered the death of Mongolian citizen Altantuya Shaariibuu instead of taking a religious oath to that effect.
Najib said yesterday that he would take a religious oath at Masjid Jamek in Kampung Baru to deny the allegations by former police officer Azilah Hadri. “In my view, filing a civil suit against his accuser is the best option which he should take rather than swearing an oath on any day, at any place.”
