India's Supreme Court postpones hearing a challenge to a new citizenship law as protests grow across the country.

Indians holds placards during a protest against a new citizenship law out side Gandhi Ashram in Ahmadabad, India, Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019. Indian student protests that turned into violent clashes with police galvanized opposition nationwide on Tuesday to a new law that provides a path to citizenship for non-Muslim migrants who entered the country illegally from several neighboring countries.

Protests and widespread condemnation have been growing against the Citizenship Amendment Act, with demonstrations erupting in India over the last week. Critics say that the new law is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist-led government’s agenda to marginalize India’s 200 million Muslims and that it goes against the spirit of the country’s secular constitution. Modi has defended it as a humanitarian gesture.

University students across India have been leading a campaign to have the citizenship law overturned.

I hear Mar A Lago has vacancies how long did it take them to conclude that they wouldn't disturb the work that was already done? that's an indolent branch of government. Supreme Court lets stand ruling that protects homeless who sleep on sidewalkBreaking: The Supreme Court refused to hear a major case on homeless, letting stand a ruling that protects their right to sleep on the sidewalk or in public parks if no other shelter is available. The outcome is a significant victory for homeless activists and a setback for city officials in California and other western states who argued the ruling undercut their authority to regulate encampments on sidewalks. There goes drumpty’s hopes of rounding them up and putting them in “camps” like he wants. LA is such a crap hole.
