The former prime minister's counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah claimed that this was part of the attempt to politically assassinate Najib.

Shafee is jealous he is no longer able to script the defence and prosecution at the same time? He got Razak Baginda out in bail while facing a murder charge and eventually got him freed by filing an affidavit yet left the lowly cops who carried out orders to face the gallows.
