A Shari’a court sitting at Rigasa, Kaduna State, on Monday dissolved a seven-month marriage between one Binta Abdullahi and her husband, Isyaku Abdullahi, over irreconcilable differences.

The judge, Mallam Dahiru Bamalli, dissolved the union after the 18-year-old complainant had prayed the court to confirm notice of divorce issued by her 50-year-old husband, Abdullahi.

Earlier, the 18-year-old complainant, a resident of Rigasa area, had told the court that her husband stopped caring for her when she refused to abort her pregnancy. “I refused to abort the pregnancy and used the money to buy soap for my mother who is in the village. He later realised that I was still pregnant and was not happy,” she said.
