Senators appealed to Grab Philippines on Sunday not to abuse the rights of the riding public just because it is the holiday season.Detained Senator Leila de Lima said it has come to her attention that the booking prices of Grab have surged lately, sometimes even double the usual fare. And because it is also the holiday season, passengers have found it difficult to book a ride especially during rush hours.

De Lima noted that most of Grab’s passengers are struggling to cope with the horrendous traffic in Metro Manila, and to reach their offices on time they won’t have to pay the penalty by seeing their salaries deducted for being late to work. De Lima, likewise, called on authorities to carefully monitor the issue and ensure that none of the common public transport vehicles would take advantage of the Christmas season.

“Grabe ubos ang sahod mo sa Grab, kahit share pa yan. Talagang saksakan ng mahal, tapos ang dami pang hhindi umaappear na driver. Ano bay an, palibahasa iisa sila ,” Marcos lamented during an interview over GMANews TV. “Sana may iba pang pumasok. Yung iba raw binigyan ng permit pero hindi pa nago-operate. Kaya walang kalaban ang Grab ,” Marcos pointed out.
