Son-in-law: RM1.3m cheque issued to police’s football club after Zahid told of financial woes

He said that in 2015, he received a call from Nizam asking for financial aid to pay the outstanding wages of the football players. However, Zul Hisham said he did not know of Yayasan Akalbudi and was never involved with the organisation, and only recently found out that one of its directors was his father-in-law, Zahid.

Zul Hisham said he asked for the RM1.3 million from Zahid personally and not through Yayasan Akalbudi. He said that he gave financial aid to the football association in 2014 when the players’ wages were delayed by a few months, as his father-in-law Zahid who was home minister had told him of the need to look out for the players’ welfare.
